5 Reasons lifestyle photography is the right choice for you.

I want to capture your moments, not poses. Sure, the posed photo has its place, I'm not knocking it, but what really makes me passionate about photography are those unposed moments of raw emotion. That kiss, the way a mother looks lovingly at her child, the ornery smile of a toddler, these things cant be posed or directed. They are raw and unexpected. They are real.

Its my passion to capture for you, those moments that speak directly to the heart. The thing I love most about lifestyle photography is that its completely unscripted. I love to relax in the moment and just allow connection to do the work. If you are considering if a lifestyle session may be right for your family, and trust me, it is, but if you need a little convincing, let me give you 5 reasons why I think lifestyle photography offers a uniquely perfect experience and outcome.

1) There is beauty in imperfection.

You don't need a beautifully decorated home or a breathtaking skyline to make beautiful art. True beauty is found in the mundane of every day. Some day, the messes will be gone and the house will be calm. Those moments are not today. Today, we find beauty in the chaos, the chaos that is uniquely yours. Embrace the beauty of the chaos.

2) Kids are most comfortable to be themselves when in their element.

When I look at my babies, I see their individual personalities. Those little things about them that make them uniquely perfect. Those little traits I cherish as a mom and hope to remember forever. If you knew my Emma, you would know she is my creator, always covered in paint or marker. She is my free spirit. Clothes are optional. She has a charm about her that cant be put into words. She is mischievous, but rarely pays for her crimes because a quick flash on that sideways grin is all it takes to win this mama's heart. Personality cant be posed. It ebbs and flows with the moments.

Want to see a child for who they really are? Then meet them where they love to be!

When photographing children, I love to ask them, "Can you take me on an adventure?" The result never disappoints.

3) Lifestyle photography helps to capture a depth of relationship in ways that can only be observed.

That moment shared between a mother and her child when the world stops, and all that matters is each other.

Those sweet seconds between siblings when lifetime friendships are being forged before your eyes.

A child that presents a parent with their most prized possession. Sure, it may just be a rock, but to mama, her baby just gave her heart. You cant pose that.

4) Context matters.

Lifestyle photography allows for context. The scene can be as simple as a bed or as complex as a mountain top. But the scene helps set the memory. What's something you enjoy doing as a family? Lets capture that!

Maybe its taking in nature.

Perhaps you are growing a family of bakers.

Those moments of connection, froze in time, will be a treasure for years and generations to come.

5) Lifestyle photography can work for any season of life.

A fresh little squish,

Or a blend of new and old.

Lifestyle photography captures those moments that spark an emotion in your heart. I can promise, this will be a session that brings a smile to your heart long after the children are grown. I hope you will consider a lifestyle session with your family soon!
